What a Real PPC Audit Actually Reveals

Forget the 50-page PDF nobody reads. We surface the 3-5 things actually costing you money and rank them by what to fix first.

01
Wasted Spend Detection

Most accounts leak 15-30% of spend on irrelevant searches, broken match types, missing negatives, and duplicate keywords. We find every dollar going to clicks that will never convert - then show you exactly how to redirect that budget.

-
02
Tracking & Attribution Fixes

If your conversion tracking is broken or under-counting, every decision you make from it is wrong. We audit your tag setup, GA4 integration, server-side tracking, and attribution model so you can actually trust the numbers in your dashboard.

-
03
Targeting & Creative Audit

We review audience overlap, exclusion lists, demographic targeting, and ad creative performance. The audit surfaces who you're paying to reach who never buys - and which ad variations are actually pulling weight versus draining budget.

PPC Audit FAQs

What's the difference between a PPC audit and PPC management? +
A PPC audit is a one-time 2-3 week diagnostic that finds where your ad accounts are bleeding budget and tells you exactly what to fix - delivered as a prioritized roadmap. PPC management is an ongoing retainer engagement where we run, optimize, and scale your campaigns continuously. Many clients start with the audit to see the scope of the problem, then decide whether to manage in-house using our roadmap or move into ongoing management with us.
Which ad platforms do you audit? +
Google Ads (Search, Shopping, Performance Max, Display, YouTube), Meta Ads (Facebook and Instagram), LinkedIn Ads, Microsoft Ads (Bing), Pinterest Ads, TikTok Ads, and Amazon Ads. We audit any platform you're spending on - including platforms where most of the budget waste hides because nobody pays attention to them. If you're running multi-channel, we map performance across all of them and identify where to shift budget for better ROI.
How long does a PPC audit take? +
2 weeks for accounts with a few active campaigns and clean tracking. 3-4 weeks for accounts with complex multi-channel setups, multiple business units, or broken tracking that needs to be untangled first. We'll give you an honest timeline after we see your account scope - not a sales-deck estimate.
How much wasted spend will the audit typically find? +
Industry data suggests 15-30% of paid ad spend goes to wasted clicks across irrelevant queries, broken match types, duplicate keywords, and audience overlap. We've audited accounts where waste was as high as 60% (tracking was broken so they couldn't even see it). The audit pays for itself by recovering this budget - usually within the first 30-60 days of implementation.
Will the audit work if my conversion tracking is broken? +
Yes - in fact, broken tracking is often what we find first. We audit your tracking setup as Step 1 because if your data is wrong, every recommendation built on it is also wrong. We'll surface the tracking issues, recommend fixes (server-side conversions, Enhanced Conversions, proper attribution), and then audit the campaign performance once you have trustworthy data. For clients who also need CRO audit work, we coordinate the two so tracking fixes don't have to be done twice.
Do you implement the fixes or just deliver the report? +
Both options. Many clients take the audit roadmap and execute through their internal team or freelancer. Others want us to handle implementation alongside their existing setup or as a transition to ongoing PPC management. We can also pair the audit with SEO audit or CRO audit work when the leak is multi-channel - sometimes "bad PPC results" are actually a CRO problem or an SEO traffic mismatch.
Why are my paid ads underperforming? +
Paid ads underperform when targeting is too broad, conversion tracking isn’t set up, or creatives are not tested against audience segments. Landing page issues also play a big role in wasted clicks. 5 Reasons Your Paid Ads Are Underperforming
What role does click fraud play in PPC underperformance? +
Click fraud can drain up to 20% of ad budgets through bots, click farms, or competitor activity. Without detection and filtering, brands may pay for fake clicks that never convert. Read our full article: Paid Ads, Click Fraud, And What It Means for Your Bottom Line .
